Pharmavite, a nutrition-focused wellness company and producer of Nature Made vitamins, has inaugurated a new manufacturing and research facility in New Albany, Ohio.

The $250m investment marks Pharmavite’s first venture in the region, creating 225 jobs and offering potential for further expansion.

The facility is expected to enhance the company’s capacity to address the increasing demand for vitamin gummies.

Located at 13700 Jug Street, the 225,000 ft2 facility has commenced production, focusing on vitamin gummies, a segment that has nearly doubled since 2019.

Nature Made was the leading brand in dollar growth for vitamin gummies in 2024.

The new facility aims to increase the accessibility of Nature Made products and bolster research and innovation through Pharmavite’s Gummies Innovation Centre of Excellence.

Pharmavite CEO Jeff Boutelle said: “This new facility enables us to meet the growing demand for Nature Made vitamins and support consumers across the country on their health and wellness journeys.

“We chose New Albany for this significant investment after an extensive search and we’re proud to be a part of the emerging science, innovation, and technology hub in Central Ohio, and honoured to be welcomed into the wellness-focused community.

“As Pharmavite’s newest facility officially ramps up production of its science-backed offerings here in New Albany, I’d like to extend our thanks and appreciation to the many local organisations who made this possible, including JobsOhio, One Columbus, the City of New Albany, and Turner Construction.”

Based in California, Pharmavite is a subsidiary of Otsuka Pharmaceutical and is known for its science-backed vitamin and supplement solutions.

Since the facility construction began in 2023, Pharmavite has pledged to be an active community partner in Central Ohio, contributing to the region’s growth and well-being.

The company collaborates with Healthy New Albany, Johnstown Lifestyle, Mid-Ohio Food Collective, Pelotonia, The Garden for All, and the Columbus Crew to promote wellness.

The new facility complements the production of brands like Bonafide, Equelle, MegaFood, Nature Made Wellblends, and Uqora.

New Albany Mayor Sloan Spalding said: “Pharmavite’s decision to invest in New Albany represents more than just a major economic development win, it reinforces the momentum we’re seeing in our growing Health and Life Sciences cluster within the New Albany International Business Park.

“Their mission to support health and wellness through science-backed nutrition is a natural fit for our community, where health and wellness is one of our core pillars.

“We are proud to welcome Pharmavite to New Albany and look forward to the positive impact they will make, both as an innovator in their industry and as a committed community partner.”
