Everwell Health has acquired American River Nutrition (ARN), a company of Designs for Health, to enhance its portfolio of science-backed healthy ageing ingredients.
The acquisition brings ARN’s annatto-based extract ingredients and manufacturing technologies into Everwell Health’s functional ingredient platform.
It includes ARN’s patented ingredients, DeltaGold and GG-Gold, along with additional functional ingredients and intellectual property.
Operations at ARN’s Hadley, Massachusetts facility will continue, with Everwell Health planning further investments to establish it as their primary Innovation Centre.
Designs for Health will retain the DuoQuinol ingredient and is not part of the transaction.
Designs for Health is a family-owned company that provides high-quality nutritional supplements and functional foods to healthcare professionals.

ARN’s ingredients Bixa orellana, DeltaGold, and GG-Gold, offer antioxidant benefits, support protein synthesis and the production of crucial compounds like testosterone and CoQ10.
The company uses its in-house developed processes at its Hadley manufacturing site to produce pure annatto-derived ingredients.
It employs a specialised distillation process to isolate key bioactive compounds without solvents or harsh chemicals. It also features an in-house lab for quality control and research.
ARN will operate as ‘American River Nutrition, an Everwell Health Company’ until the end of 2025, after which it will fully integrate into Everwell Health’s brand portfolio.
Its customers and partners will benefit from Everwell Health’s expertise in developing exclusive, science-backed functional ingredients.
