US-based soft drink manufacturer Coca-Cola has rolled out a Cherry Float flavour across the UK, adding both standard and zero-sugar versions to its range.
The business confirmed nationwide availability from this month for Coca-Cola Cherry Float and Coca-Cola Cherry Float Zero Sugar.
According to the company, the addition broadens its cherry selection and draws on the profile of traditional soda floats by blending cherry and vanilla with its cola base.
Both products are positioned to respond to interest in cherry-flavoured drinks while offering options in original and zero-sugar formats.
Permanent distribution is planned across major retailers in Great Britain, with pack sizes including 300ml cans, 500ml bottles, 2L bottles, 330ml eight-can multipacks and 24-can multipacks, depending on the variant.
The flavour will join Diet Coke Cherry, Coca-Cola Cherry and Coca-Cola Cherry Zero Sugar within the company’s cherry line-up.
The introduction follows what the business said was strong momentum and consumer demand for cherry-based beverages, extending its existing UK portfolio.
CocaCola Great Britain senior marketing manager Ellie D’Silva said: “Cherry flavours continue to be a fan favourite, and the introduction of Cherry Float across both original and zero sugar variants gives consumers even more choice within the CocaCola Cherry range. Inspired by the nostalgic taste of classic soda floats, the new flavour reflects our continued focus on innovation while offering fans new ways to enjoy the iconic CocaCola taste.”
Other manufacturers are also expanding cherry-led offerings.
PepsiCo last November debuted a cherry variant as part of a limited online release of Pepsi Prebiotic Cola in the US.
The product line includes a Cherry Vanilla option alongside the original flavour, each formulated with 30 calories per serving, 5g of sugar and 3g of prebiotic fibre.
