DKSH has entered into an agreement to acquire AIC Ingredients, a Malaysia-based producer of customised functional food ingredients.
The transaction is slated to complete in the second quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.
Once finalised, the purchase will bring AIC Ingredients into DKSH Performance Materials.
According to the press statement, AIC Ingredients has more than two decades of experience in functional food ingredients and employs about 60 people.
DKSH said the deal will broaden its footprint in Malaysia while adding capacity in food blending and manufacturing.
Established in 1998, AIC Ingredients focuses on developing and making functional blends for bakery applications.
The company also works with customers on product development, providing services such as recipe formulation and contract blending, and has built a presence in the Malaysian market through technical capability and sector know-how.
AIC Ingredients founder and managing director YC Choong said: “Over the years, AIC Ingredients has grown into a trusted provider of food ingredient and premix solutions. Together with DKSH, we can accelerate our growth and reach new markets across Asia Pacific.”
DKSH Performance Materials runs its food ingredient blending and formulation work via its “customised” food solutions business, ekpi.
Bringing AIC Ingredients into the group is set to expand ekpi’s activities in Malaysia, forming a third operating pillar in the country and reinforcing DKSH’s manufacturing and formulation platform across the region.
DKSH said it intends to acquire the business in full and integrate AIC Ingredients into its existing operations after the deal closes.
DKSH Performance Materials head Natale Capri added: “By bringing AIC Ingredients and their experienced team into our group, we are enhancing our ability to support customers with innovative, scalable and locally relevant food technologies across Asia.”
Separately, DKSH North America recently signed a distribution agreement with Cosphatec to widen the German supplier’s personal care ingredients range in the US.
Under that arrangement, Performance Materials unit will manage business development, marketing, sales, logistics and distribution for Cosphatec’s products nationwide.
