US-based BioVivo Science has announced a $70m investment in a new 100,000ft2 cGMP-certified manufacturing facility in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
The investment aims to significantly enhance the company’s domestic production of botanical ingredients.
Additionally, the company is launching a water-soluble American Ginseng extract at the IFT FIRST event in Chicago.
American Ginseng, known scientifically as Panax quinquefolius, is gaining renewed interest due to its adaptogenic and cognitive health benefits.
BioVivo Science’s extract is rich in ginsenosides Rb1, Re, and Rg1, along with immune-supporting polysaccharides and flavonoids.
Available in various specifications, including a water-soluble extract and straight powder, it is designed for beverages, supplements, and functional foods.
The ingredient is sourced from US-grown ginseng and extracted with pure water, offering better solubility and enhanced bioavailability.
The plant-based solution meets the increasing demand for natural and traceable ingredients.
Global demand for ginseng continues to grow as studies support its benefits for stress management and cognitive support.
BioVivo Science has established direct partnerships with US ginseng farmers, ensuring a fully traceable supply chain that guarantees consistent quality and sustainable sourcing.
The new facility in Kentucky’s logistics hub can process up to 5,000 metric tons of raw material annually, with a production capacity of 2,000 metric tons of finished powdered extracts.
BioVivo Science offers vertically integrated solutions for the nutraceutical, food and beverage, animal nutrition, and personal care markets.
BioVivo Science strategic operations and supply chain director Chris Smith said: “BioVivo Science’s investment in this facility underscores our commitment to strengthening the U.S. supply chain while delivering locally manufactured, premium botanical extracts.
“The launch of our American Ginseng extract highlights our focus on innovation, traceability and providing science-backed ingredients to support health.”
