Vnzymes, the European subsidiary of China-based VTR Biotech Group, has opened an office in Frankfurt to serve as its hub for animal nutrition and to expand agricultural operations across Europe.
According to the company, the Frankfurt base will focus on advancing nutrition solutions for livestock, with particular emphasis on enzyme technology and plant-derived ingredients.
Vnzymes’ core product portfolio includes xylanase and phytase enzymes for feed applications.
Xylanase degrades plant xylan into sugars like xylose, while phytase releases minerals by breaking down phytic acid.
These enzymes are designed to enhance nutrient digestibility and improve phosphorus utilisation in livestock diets, whilst supporting intestinal health and growth performance, the press statement read.
The company also produces natural feed additives derived from Macleaya cordata, a plant extract formulated to boost feed intake, strengthen immunity, and enhance antioxidant capacity in animals.
VTR Biotech Group has established a sales network that spans more than 60 countries and regions.
Vnzymes CEO Cindy Chen said: “For more than 30 years, VTR Biotech has been dedicated to its mission of ‘Bioscience Impact Tomorrow’, advancing the research, development, and application of enzyme preparations, biosynthetic products, and plant extracts.
“With the launch of Vnzymes in Europe, we are creating a platform that not only leverages our global expertise but also addresses local market requirements in animal nutrition and health, delivering real value to our partners, clients, and the communities we serve”.
In a separate development related to enzymes, last month International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) and BASF formed a partnership to speed up the development of IFF’s Designed Enzymatic Biomaterials platform.
The alliance targeted applications across fabric, dish and personal care, as well as industrial cleaning.
It brought together BASF’s chemical capabilities with IFF’s biotechnology and protein engineering expertise.
