US-based ingredients distributor Univar Solutions has agreed to exclusively supply CABB Group’s glycolic acid across selected Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) markets.

Under the agreement, Univar Solutions will distribute the glycolic acid grades GLYCOS Clear 70 and GLYTECH Basic 70 through its Ingredients + Specialties division.

Glycolic acid is commonly incorporated into cosmetic and skincare formulations and treatments for exfoliation, skin renewal and moisturising, supported by its low toxicity, non-flammability and VOC-free profile.

The addition broadens availability for customers in beauty and personal care, home care, and industrial cleaning sectors across the region.

Univar Solutions Ingredients + Specialties CEO Nick Powell said: “This strategic alliance enhances our ability to deliver quality, innovative ingredients, and we are confident that together we can deliver greater value by offering glycolic acid solutions that meet the increasing demand for multi-purpose consumer products in the region.”

Germany-based CABB Group operates as a contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO) and fine chemicals provider.

It is focused on customised active ingredients and high-purity solutions for life science, personal care, crop science, and specialty applications.

Univar Solutions said incorporating glycolic acid aligns with its strategy to invest in high-growth segments and reinforce its Ingredients + Specialties portfolio.

The deal expands its specialty ingredients offering in selected EMEA markets through collaboration with CABB Group.

CABB group CEO Tobias Schalow added: “Univar Solutions’ broad market reach, deep technical expertise, and dedication to customer service make them the ideal partner to extend the availability of our products. This exclusive partnership will undoubtedly help drive the growth of glycolic acid in the EMEA market.”

The announcement follows other recent distribution agreements in the ingredients sector.

Earlier this month, DKSH extended its regional partnership with US-based Kemin Food Technologies by adding Thailand to an agreement covering food and beverage ingredients.

The arrangement places DKSH’s Performance Materials unit in charge of marketing and sales, distribution and logistics, and technical support for Kemin’s portfolio in the country.
