Smidge Small Batch Supplements, an American healthcare company, has introduced grass-fed, Australian Emu Oil for real food vitamin K2, as MK-4.
The latest Emu Oil offering expands the company’s premium, clean line product range.
According to Smidge, the product is designed to offer essential nutrients lacking in even the best whole foods diets as Vitamin K2 supports collagen production, skin, bone, and dental health.
The Australian Emu Oil softgels are sourced sustainably from heritage-bred emus which are commonly found in Southeast Australia. The emu is a grandiose, flightless bird native to Australia.
The healthcare firm said that the oil has a synergistic combination of unadulterated, natural nutrients, especially vitamin K2 (MK-4) and omega fatty acids.
Each serving has 1,500mg of 100% pure Smidge Emu Oil, which consists of 6.4mcg of vitamin K2 with no fillers, additives, or common allergens.
Smidge co-owner Dan Corrigan said: “The best part is the vitamin K2 in our Emu Oil doesn’t require conversion like other forms of vitamin K (such as MK-7, the plant form). So your body can readily use and absorb it.”
The fat from the bird is quickly and gently heated to produce the fresh emu oil, said the company.
Emu fat stores food and energy for difficult times like famine, drought, and during the reproductive cycle, Smidge said.
Corrigan said: “This process retains all of the oil’s rich nutritional properties and cofactors, while other brands may remove the fat and freeze it for rendering later.
“And, we maintain quality and control over the entire process, from rendering to bottling the oil in fresh, small batches.”
