The Marzetti Company, a producer of specialty food products, has introduced a new range called Marzetti Protein Ranch.
The company described the launch as a “first-to-category innovation”.
It said the product is intended to keep the taste associated with Marzetti Ranch while providing 3–4 grams of high-quality milk protein per serving, with fewer calories than the company’s other Ranch variants.
The range consists of a Protein Ranch Dressing in a 13 oz bottle, a Protein Ranch Veggie Dip in a 12 oz tub, and Protein Ranch Veggie Dip Snack Packs.
The Marzetti Company retail business president Tanya Berman said: “Protein has become a key priority for consumers, with the majority now paying close attention to how much protein they eat, more so than any other nutritional element.
“Marzetti Protein Ranch allows shoppers to enjoy a familiar favourite with added functional benefits that fit into their everyday routines. For those who use Ranch on everything, now everything can have more protein.”
Marzetti said the Protein Ranch dressing and dip will start reaching major grocery retailers across the US from this spring.
Alongside its core Marzetti dressings and dips, the company’s portfolio includes New York Bakery garlic breads and Sister Schubert’s dinner rolls.
It also holds exclusive licensing agreements covering Olive Garden dressings, Chick-fil-A sauces and dressings, Buffalo Wild Wings sauces, Arby’s sauces, Subway sauces, and Texas Roadhouse steak sauces and frozen rolls.
Marzetti’s foodservice arm supplies sauces, dressings, breads and pasta to a range of large restaurant chains in the US.
The Protein Ranch rollout follows a recent introduction of Marzetti Simply Dressed salad dressings.
The Simply Dressed line includes Homestyle Ranch, Creamy Caesar, Balsamic Vinaigrette, Lemon Vinaigrette, Strawberry Poppyseed and Avocado Green Goddess.
