US-based Laird Superfood has revised its liquid creamer range, moving to US Department of Agriculture (USDA) certified organic ingredients and adding a caramel flavour.
The updated range includes Laird Superfood Creamer with Lion’s Mane Mushroom, which is sold in grocery stores across the US.
According to the company, the revised formulation uses ingredients such as coconut milk and vanilla extract, while excluding additives including “natural” flavours, seed oils and artificial sweeteners.
The caramel option marks the first time the brand has introduced this flavour and expands the existing range, which includes sweet & creamy, Vanilla and unsweetened.
Packaging has also been changed, with the 22oz bottle now produced using post-consumer recycled plastic.
The company claims that this reduces the environmental footprint compared with virgin plastic.
Laird Superfood CEO Jason Vieth said: “We believe this is now the cleanest creamer available on the market. It’s now an organic formula with adaptogens and MCTs, and we don’t add anything artificial – ever. We’re proud of our new liquid creamer, the result of uncompromising nutritional guardrails and a commitment to innovation that really delivers to our customers. They love having adaptogenic benefits in their daily coffee.”
Laird Superfood was co-founded in 2015 by big wave surfer Laird Hamilton and his wife, former professional beach volleyball player Gabby Reece, and introduced its first products in 2016.
The business produces a range of processed food and beverage products, including creamers, instant lattes, coffees, bars and daily greens.
In April this year, Laird Superfood introduced its Vanilla Instant Latte, made with real vanilla bean powder for a more authentic flavour than the artificial options common in many coffee products.
This Vanilla Instant Latte is part of Laird Superfood’s Instant Latte range, designed for convenience and requiring only hot water for preparation.
