France-based Groupe Berkem has unveiled promising results from two human trials showcasing the benefits of its grape seed extract, Biombalance, on gut health.
The clinical trials validate Biombalance as the first grape seed extract with proven efficacy in enhancing digestive well-being.
Biombalance, part of the BeGrape range, is crafted from grapes harvested in the Champagne region of France.
The company’s R&D department has invested in extensive research to explore the health benefits of polyphenols, particularly OPCs.
In recent studies, Biombalance has been shown to provide rapid and lasting digestive comfort when used as a supplement. It also showed significant findings in human trials.
In a pilot study, over 90% of participants found Biombalance effective in managing gastrointestinal discomfort.
In a comparative study against a placebo, nearly 80% of consumers reported relief from occasional digestive issues, such as gas and bloating.
Improvements were noted as early as two weeks into the supplementation.
Further results showed that 61% of consumers experienced reduced belly discomfort, while 77% reported enhanced digestive well-being.
Notably, 84% of those with frequent digestive issues saw improvements. Biombalance also positively impacted users’ mood, energy, and overall daily well-being, with digestive issues having less effect on their lifestyle.
Consumer satisfaction with Biombalance is high, with over 80% expressing contentment and a strong intent to purchase.
The trials also revealed five key modes of action, including prebiotic stimulation of beneficial bacteria, protection against free radicals, and support for intestinal wall function and healthy inflammatory responses.
Biombalance emerges as a standout ingredient in the nutraceutical market, offering rapid and sustained digestive comfort.
Its efficacy is supported by rigorous trials, making it a valuable addition for brands seeking innovative solutions in digestive health.
