Polish nutraceutical manufacturer Greenvit has introduced its standardised aronia berry extract Aronvit in the US.
The launch follows a pilot randomised human study indicating the ingredient’s potential benefits for metabolic health.
To support its entry into the market, the company has set up a new headquarters and a warehouse in Voorhees, New Jersey.
Greenvit plans to present Aronvit at the upcoming SupplySide West trade event in Las Vegas between 27 and 30 October.
Greenvit CEO Rafal Pietruszynski said: “The full wellness potential of the aronia berry is still being discovered in the US and around the world.
“Modern science confirms what people intuitively knew for generations, that aronia is one of the richest sources of natural polyphenols and antioxidants. Aronvit is a true superberry extract, combining heritage with science and innovation.”
Aronvit is made from the Nero-Eggert variety of aronia berries, developed by Polish grower Piotr Eggert.
The plant is noted for its high yield, short bush height, and natural resistance to disease, making it suitable for organic cultivation.
The extract contains polyphenols (25%), anthocyanins (15%), and proanthocyanidins (10%), and includes vitamins C, E, and K, along with minerals such as iron and calcium.
Greenvit sources its aronia berries from local farms in Poland’s “green lungs” region.
The extract is produced using the company’s PureGreenLine process, a cold-water extraction and multi-step membrane filtration system that avoids solvents and additives.
The production line operates on solar power and a closed-loop water system, designed to minimise waste and reduce environmental impact.
Pietruszynski said that Aronvit has been included as a reference material in the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) as a monograph for aronia extract.
“We are an official partner of the USP Donor Recognition Program,” he added.
