Swiss fragrance major Givaudan has concluded the acquisition of US-based fragrance specialist Belle Aire Creations.
The Swiss group expects the deal to widen its access to local and regional customers across North America.
The company said the transaction is aligned with its 2030 strategy, which includes broadening its work with regional and local brands and strengthening creative capabilities in key markets.
Founded in 1982 and based in Illinois, Belle Aire Creations develops fragrances and provides full-service fragrance manufacturing, combining scientific formulation with perfumery expertise.
Givaudan CEO Gilles Andrier said: “We are thrilled to officially welcome the employees of Belle Aire Creations to the Givaudan family. The company’s strong reach with local and regional customers, combined with our global creative expertise and innovation capabilities, will enable us to serve the dynamic North American market even more closely and effectively.”
Financial details of the transaction have not been made public.
Givaudan indicated that, on a proforma basis, Belle Aire Creations’ operations would have added around SFr65m ($81.24m) in incremental sales to its 2024 results.
The Swiss group said the acquisition will be financed from existing resources.
Describing the acquired business, Givaudan said Belle Aire Creations has been “fuelled by creativity, passion, and an unwavering drive for excellence”, and highlighted its journey from “entrepreneurial beginnings to its current industry leadership”.
Belle Aire Creations CEO Stacey David added: “We are delighted to join Givaudan and collaborate in shaping the future of fragrance creation. This partnership will build on our entrepreneurial spirit and customer intimacy, giving us access to global resources while maintaining the unique relationships that define Belle Aire Creations.”
Givaudan operates through two main units, Fragrance & Beauty and Taste & Wellbeing.
The group reported sales of SFr7.4bn in 2024 and employs more than 16,900 people globally.
Its Fragrance & Beauty division develops scents and beauty solutions for categories including personal care, home care and fine fragrance, with a stated emphasis on sustainability and co-creation with customers.
