Spanish fragrance house Eurofragance has inaugurated its first Creative Centre in Indonesia, setting up a new €1m ($1.1m) facility in South Jakarta.

The centre is intended to bolster customer collaboration and formulation work across the Asia Pacific region.

The site, based in Arkadia Green Park and run through PT. Euronindo Fragance Internusa, covers more than 770m².

It is designed to function as a regional hub for co-creation, evaluation and application development spanning fine fragrance, home care and personal care categories.

The Jakarta location joins the company’s existing network of Creative Centres in Barcelona, Dubai, Mexico, India and Singapore.

According to the company, the move comes against the backdrop of a fast-developing fragrance market in Indonesia, which the company links to rising consumer sophistication and stronger interest in locally inspired fragrances.

Industry projections referenced in the announcement indicate that the wider South East Asian fragrance market is expected to grow at a compound annual rate of more than 3% through 2030.

The new centre houses perfumery, evaluation and applications laboratories and features Eurofragance’s proprietary platforms, including EuroCaps for long-lasting scent delivery and EuroPure for odour neutralisation.

The facility incorporates measures aimed at reducing environmental impact across formulation, sourcing and daily operations.

These include the use of renewable raw materials and energy-efficient processes.

In addition to product development, the Jakarta site is intended to operate as a training and skills centre for the local fragrance industry, bringing together perfumers, evaluators, application experts and marketing and sales teams.

The opening follows the creation of Eurofragance Indonesia in 2023 and adds to the company’s recent regional steps, such as Creative Centres opened in Mumbai in 2024 and Singapore in 2016.

Eurofragance APAC general manager Balwinder Rolley said: “Indonesia sits at the heart of Southeast Asia’s fragrance landscape, a market brimming with creativity, cultural diversity and increasing consumer sophistication.

“Establishing a creative and technical hub here allows us to collaborate more closely with our partners, bringing concepts from idea to shelf faster and designing fragrances that reflect local tastes and preferences.”

Last month, Eurofragance announced Olivante, its fourth proprietary perfumery ingredient.

Made from leftover olive material after oil extraction, it has no oily smell.

Created with an olive oil industry upcycling specialist, Olivante is marketed as a 100% natural, upcycled raw material.

Eurofragance, founded in Barcelona in 1990, develops fragrances for fine perfumery, home, personal and air care.

It runs production facilities in Spain, Singapore and Mexico, and works with additional manufacturing partners in China and India.
