US-based plant-based meat producer Beyond Meat has expanded its product range with the introduction of Beyond Immerse, a ready-to-drink plant-based protein beverage.

The new product is being introduced in three flavours – Peach Mango, Lemon Lime and Orange Tangerine.

According to the company’s statement, it is presented as a protein drink emphasising refreshment rather than a traditional shake format.

Beyond Meat founder and CEO Ethan Brown said: “With Beyond Immerse, we are bringing our pioneering expertise in unlocking the power of plants to a functional beverage line. Our intent is simple: immerse the consumer in the remarkable nutrition of plants—from protein to fibre, with the addition of antioxidants and electrolytes—all in a single refreshing and satisfying 12 fl oz drink.”

Beyond Immerse combines plant-derived protein, fibre, antioxidants and electrolytes in a bottled beverage, the statement added.

Each flavour is available in two nutritional variants: one containing 10g of protein, 7g of fibre and 60 calories per serving, and another providing 20g of protein, 7g of fibre and 100 calories.

Protein in the drink is sourced from peas, while fibre is derived from tapioca.

According to the company, the beverage is intended to support muscle health through its protein content and gut health through its fibre levels, with each serving also providing vitamin C.

The formulation includes electrolytes and does not contain genetically modified organisms (GMOs) or sugar alcohols.

Initial availability is limited to the company’s direct-to-consumer test platform, where the product will be offered on a trial basis.

In another protein-related development, earlier this month Lactalis USA, a subsidiary of France-based dairy group Lactalis, launched a new native whey protein line under the Pronativ brand in the US market.

The line was introduced in four variants – Mellow Chocolate, French Vanilla, Silky Strawberry and an Unflavored option – and is currently available via Amazon Prime.
