US-based meat snacks provider Archer is set to open a second manufacturing facility in Los Angeles to boost its meat stick production amid rising demand.

The new plant, located in Vernon, supports Archer’s goal of expanding its operations in Los Angeles and enhancing its capacity to meet consumer needs for protein-rich snacks.

Archer’s sales have surged by 90% year-over-year, significantly outpacing the meat snack category’s 5.8% growth.

The impressive performance is largely driven by the increasing popularity of its meat sticks, which saw a 187.4% rise in sales.

The new facility will nearly double Archer’s manufacturing capacity, focusing primarily on meat stick production to improve market responsiveness.

The Vernon plant, previously operated by Farmer John, spans nearly 140,000 ft2 and is equipped for processing and packaging.

The facility is scheduled to be fully operational by early September 2025.

It will exclusively produce meat sticks, while Archer’s existing San Bernardino plant will continue producing both jerky and meat sticks.

Archer plans to create over 200 jobs at the new Vernon facility, with hiring set to begin this summer.

The expansion aligns with Archer’s ongoing commitment to Los Angeles, where it already employs over 150 people at its San Bernardino plant.

In April, Archer further demonstrated its local engagement by sponsoring the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Archer specialises in clean ingredient meat snacks, offering a range of products such as grass-fed Beef Jerky, all-natural Turkey Jerky, Zero-Sugar Jerky, and various meat sticks.

The brand focuses on using all-natural, grass-fed proteins and premium ingredients to deliver satisfying, convenient snacks without fillers.

Archer founder and CEO Eugene Kang said: “The explosive growth of our meat stick products made increasing our production capabilities essential, and doing this in Los Angeles was an intentional choice.

“Our founding principle has always been that supply chain ownership is crucial for maximising margins and ensuring quality control, as evidenced by our jerky business.

“This expansion represents our next strategic step to vertically integrate our fastest-growing product line.”
