Ocean Spray, the worldwide market leader for cranberries, is introducing two new innovations at this year’s Food Ingredients Europe.
The product innovations are: Sweetened Dried Cranberries (SDC) VeryBerry and BerryFusions Fruits (BFF) Pomegranate Wholes.
Due to the taste and the health effect the consumption of dried cranberries has increased constantly within the last years. The new variety VeryBerry will ensure further impulse to buy. Due to a special very gentle production process and the particularly high addition of cranberry concentrate the dried fruit is very intense in taste. Therefore it is suitable for many different premium applications – regardless of whether as pure snack or as flavour component in muesli, desserts and hearty meals.
BerryFusion Fruits: Cranberries with new fruity tastes
Ocean Spray also represents new whole cranberries with pomegranate flavour as the second innovation in the field of BerryFusions Fruits. These Pomegranate Wholes are not only improved with natural pomegranate aroma but also with pomegranate juice concentrate.
BerryFusions Fruits combine the natural taste of the name lending fruit with the processing stability of the cranberries. Furthermore the stable prices and a high security of supply make BFF cranberries an economic alternative for sensitive and expensive fruit like oranges, raspberries and blueberries. Due to the excellent processing stability BerryFusions Fruits keep its lumpiness, taste, colour and texture during the whole processing period. A 24 months life period turn them into an ideal ingredient for all applications – especially in muesli, fruit bars and pastries.
Besides the novelties SDC VeryBerry and BFF Pomegranate Wholes bolasco is offering many further varieties of Ocean Spray cranberries. The fruit is available as dried and sweetened whole berries, as puree, concentrate, powder as well as frozen berries. The dried fruit is used in mono packs or combined with other fruit or nuts. It sets accents in colour and taste in muesli, fruit and cereal bars, sweets as well as toppings for salads, in dressings and sauces. In addition it gives pastries and cheese a fruity touch. Last but not least: Contrary to many other fruit cranberries are baking stable. They do not release their intense colour into the dough during the production process.
Professional Chef Shows the Diversity of Cranberries
The visitors of the trade fair are able to experience live the multitude of applications of dried cranberries on the booth of bolasco. The chef Anthony Sarpong will use the fruit and ingredients directly in place. There he shows how versatile it can be used in sweet food and hearty dishes. At the same time the visitors are able to inform themselves about novelties from other producers because bolasco represents many other market leaders in the field of dried fruit, fruit concentrates and fruit purees. These ones present their products on this year’s FIE in Frankfurt for the first time at bolasco booth (hall 9, stand E17). Trade visitors find here a broad range of fruity ingredients amongst others dried Terrafertil goldenberries, Sunsweet prunes, Sun Maid raisins and Blue Diamond almonds. Among this comprehensive offer bolasco compiles tailor made solutions which fulfill individual demand and requirements of each customer.
