US-based food technology company Hypha Labs has introduced two functional mushroom ingredient arrays for home and commercial production.
Hypha Labs is engaged in the development of functional mushrooms, a naturally occurring compound found in certain mushrooms.
The food technology firm has launched the first generation MicroPearls Pro for home use, while MicroPearls ProX is for large-scale commercial ingredient production.
In addition, MicroPearls ProX is expected to produce an identical array.
Both devices use a mushroom accelerator technology that employs proprietary methods to produce functional mushroom ingredients. This process creates small, translucent orbs, known as MicroPearls.
According to Hypha Labs, the MicroPearls Pro and MicroPearls ProX can produce a variety of functional mushroom ingredients in just eight days.
Both devices can produce Reishi, Lion’s Mane, Cordyceps, Turkey Tail, Agarikon, and Chaga ingredients.
Other mushrooms categories are being identified and developed.
Hypha Labs CEO Stone Douglass said: “We’re most pleased that the seminal MicroPearls suite of products all can efficiently produce the most popular mushroom ingredients in this rapidly expanding industry.”
“Forecasts for the mushroom ingredient category are already bullish and we believe the time is right for a market disruptive home and commercial unit that will empower the home user to make their own ingredients while enabling commercial operators to produce at scale.”
The company, previously known as Digipath, has developed technology for producing active ingredients from various functional mushrooms using its patent-pending mushroom accelerators.
The technology can grow functional mushrooms from anywhere, according to Hypha Labs.
In May, the mushroom technology firm announced new patent filing for a range of methods and devices designed for the extraction of active components from mycelium, including psilocybin.
In a similar development, US-based MegaFood introduced a range of plant-powered mushroom supplements.
