FDF’s UK food and drink export statistics for 2012/3 highlight significant growth potential in Central and Eastern Europe. Many markets in the region are importing increasing levels of food and drink, with exports to Bulgaria alone up 53% on 2011.

FDF’s workshop will equip delegates with the market insight and tools to help them develop export strategies for Central and Eastern Europe. Delegates will take part in country-specific surgeries and hear representatives from UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and retailers including Tesco, as well as case studies from established exporters to the region.

Steve Barnes, director of economics and commercial services at FDF, said: "With 75% of UK food and drink exports going to Europe, manufacturers can build on this success. Central and Eastern European markets in the region are growing and consumer need is increasing, boosting the appetite for British brands. I am confident that there are lucrative opportunities in the region for British food and drinks."
