Knocking out norovirus
Norovirus is the single largest cause of foodborne illness in the US, responsible for roughly 5.5 million infections and 22,000 hospitalisations annually, according to the CDC. The UK’s Food Standards Agency says that outbreaks have been linked to contaminated foods like oysters and fresh produce, such as berries.
