Stauber Performance Ingredients, a portfolio company of US investment firm ICV Partners, has acquired American nutritional ingredients company Pharmline, for an undisclosed amount.

The new acquisition from Gadot Biochemical Industries will widen Stauber's product lines and its geographical footprint.

However, the terms of the transaction have not been divulged.

Pharmline, based in Florida, New York, is a major distributor and manufacturer of nutritional ingredients, with specialized processing capabilities such as mixing, drying, granulation and micronization.

In addition, it sells and distributes botanicals, fish oil, minerals, vitamins, amino acids and other ingredients, and operates in-house lab and R&D facilities.

Pharmline, founded in 1986, is believed to be the exclusive distributor of Industrial Organica's Hi-Fil Lutein products and EPAX marine-based Omega-3 concentrates.

Pharmline chief executive officer Olivier Guiot said, "The combination of Stauber and Pharmline is a strong market fit that creates an organization better positioned to provide superior quality products that improve health."

Stauber Performance Ingredients CEO Dan Stauber said that the establishment of Pharmline as the company's manufacturing arm is a key step to its future as it aims to become a complete service-provider to its growing customer base.

Founded in 1969 and based in Fullerton, California, Stauber Performance Ingredients is a manufacturer and distributor of nutritional ingredients and blends.

Its product portfolio includes minerals, amino acids, green foods, excipients, energy and weight loss products, herbs, sweeteners, acidulants, vitamins, and acidophilus.
