Caffeine replacement ingredient Zynamite® honoured with Nutraingredients Awards

22 May 2018

Shortly after launching Zynamite® at Vitafoods Europe 2018, Nektium is proud to announce that its caffeine replacement was honoured with the Nutraingredients Award in the Sports Nutrition category as Ingredient of the Year.

The R&D team of Nektium has investigated caffeine alternatives for over two years until launching the clinically-studied ingredient Zynamite®, an extract from mango leaves, standardized to 60% mangiferin. It is the main bioactive compound responsible for the caffeine-like effect, such as mental activation, focus and concentration. Not having any of the typical side-effects that caffeine has such as jitters, racing pulse and anxiety finally convinced the jury.

Miguel Jimenez, CEO of Nektium is pleased with the results: “We were overwhelmed with the interest people had in Zynamite®. The launch and winning the Nutraingredients Award was a major achievement. The company has undergone major changes within the past years and developing innovative new ingredients is a priority for Nektium.”

In 11 categories, the jury from the Nutraingredients Awards recognises the industry´s best product developments, brightest research and biggest commercial successes. The ceremony traditionally takes place during the trade show Vitafoods Europe in Geneva, where the nutraceutical sector comes together annually to see the latest trends and developments.
