Advanced Organic Materials

(AOM), leading producer of specialty Natural Tocopherols, vitamin E and plant sterols, announces the launch of a major industrial expansion. This project marks the start of the company’s manufacturing operations in Spain, making it the first fully integrated manufacturer of tocopherols, sterols and sterol esters in Europe.

With the purchase of over 30,000 square metres of land in Valencia, Spain, AOM is ready to break ground before the end of this year. The first wave of investment, totalling over $10 million will be completed by the second half of 2019, and will enable AOM to increase its production volumes, to better serve customers in Europe and more efficiently source raw materials in the region.

After more than 15 years in the market, AOM is the pioneer and leader in the industry for sunflower vitamin E and rapeseed Tocopherols. These products have been a major global success in a market that is looking for Non-GMO, Allergen-Free, and natural ingredients. This significant scale up in production for these products represent increased security of supply for current and future customers.

AOM is present commercially in Europe since the opening of an office and warehouse in Spain in 2016. Valencia is a strategic site for this facility which further consolidates AOM’s European footprint, provides efficient logistics for raw material sourcing in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East, as well as for shipment of many by products.

Alejandro Abad, general manager of AOM, has no doubt about the project’s potential: “We are excited to take our company to a new level. In addition to the multiplier effect on AOM’s production capacity, the new plant will lead to an improved sourcing process, a more efficient supply chain, and reduced lead times. It will also allow us to expand our presence in businesses that require local manufacturing.”
