European chocolate producer Natra has agreed to acquire Bredabest, a Dutch supplier of peanut butter and peanut-based ingredients, for an undisclosed price.

Established in 1996, Bredabest provides high-quality, natural peanut products across Europe.

By combining with Natra, Bredabest gets access to a wider distribution network and additional resources, while keeping its operations and workforce in the Netherlands.

The transaction, pending regulatory approval and other conditions, will see Bredabest continuing under its existing brand. Its management team will continue in the same positions to lead daily operations.

Bredabest founders Pieter Stienen and Rainier van Rey will retain their roles and shares in the company.

Natra, backed by CapVest Partners, is a key player in the chocolate industry, selling its products in over 90 countries.

The company operates seven production plants across Spain, Belgium, France, and Canada, employing over 1,400 people.

The strategic move aims to enhance Natra’s offerings in sweet spreads and confectionery by leveraging Bredabest’s expertise in peanut processing.

Also, the acquisition is expected to bolster Natra’s international growth strategy.
