Previous research has shown that the amino acid glycine and kitchen spice cinnamon positively impact metabolic factors, such as fasting blood glucose and insulin sensitivity. The objective of a recent published study (Bloomer et al, 2018) was to determine if the combination of glycine and cinnamon extract - branded as SugarClear - promotes glucose disposal and other positive related metabolic effects. These benefits could help to support dietary interventions, such as a low-carbohydrate or ketogenic diet, aimed at minimising spikes in blood glucose.
Ten men and women ingested a 25g glucose beverage with and without SugarClear - a proprietary blend of glycine and cinnamon extract (Cinnulin PF) - and were separated by approximately one week. Blood was collected before and at 20, 60 and 120 minutes post ingestion for analysis.
The results of the SugarClear study showed a significant reduction in blood glucose - 52% incremental area under the curve (iAUC) - and insulin (57% iAUC), while significantly increasing plasma levels of GLP-1 (36% iAUC) and adenosine triphosphate (ATP) (20% iAUC) during an acute oral glucose tolerance test.
Only available through IN-Ingredients, SugarClear is a unique patented proprietary powder blend that has been clinically researched, and may enhance glucose disposal, improve nutrient uptake and increase ATP levels. SugarClear's applications include:
SugarClear is also non-GMO, vegan, vegetarian, and gluten and lactose-free. SugarClear can be delivered in a capsule, tablet, powder or liquid form, with a recommended serving size of 5g being taken daily with meals.
