Transmar Group is one of the world's leading suppliers of cocoa products to the confectionary, ice cream and bakery industries. Founded in 1980, the company services today span the complete cocoa supply chain.
The company headquarters is in Morristown, New Jersey, with sales offices in the US, Germany, Ecuador and Russia. The operations include cocoa processing plants in Ecuador, Germany and the US as well as contract manufacturers in West Africa and Indonesia.
The client base includes large multinational companies and smaller specialty-oriented customers. By focusing only on the cocoa supply chain from beans at origin through semi-finished products, Transmar does not compete with the customers in the industry and retail markets. Therefore, the company is able to focus entirely on the customers' requirements, working with them to develop tailor-made, semi-finished products that result in superior finished ones.
Over time Transmar has grown substantially and now offers a variety of products and services. The growth is a reflection of the entrepreneurial spirit that is guiding the company as well as a testament of the dedication to meet customers' changing needs and anticipating trends within the cocoa industry.
Transmar Group is focused on the part of the supply chain from the beans at origin through semi-finished cocoa products. The products include: beans, liquor, butter, powder, cake and nibs.
As a supply chain service provider Transmar Group provides services within four categories: sourcing, logistics, processing and risk mitigation.
Transmar Group is invested in sustainability in the cocoa sector in many ways and believes that sustainability is key to providing the fairest prices to farmers and the best-quality cocoa across the board, while ensuring a continued cocoa supply for years to come.
Transmar is active in broad industry initiatives as well as on the ground with local organisations, government agencies and businesses. This enables Transmar to offer its customers a variety of sustainability products such as sustainably certified cocoa beans and cocoa products from Africa, Latin America and Asia.
In addition the corporation, together with partners and its own sourcing structures, provides unique opportunities to tailor sustainability initiatives that match individual customers' requests and priorities.
Since 1820, Ecuador has been one of the world's leading high-quality bean producers. In 1998, Transmar established a bean exporting office in Guayaquil. The growth and success of that business prompted the expansion of the business and a construction of a cocoa liquor plant in Guayaquil was added to the operation. The exporting office and plant were joined to become Transmar Ecuador in 2008.
Transmar Ecuador is a completely vertical operation. Its teams oversee every stage of the supply chain from working on-site with farmers to stewarding each customer's order through processing to assure optimal quality. Transmar Ecuador's ability to create customised procurement and processing programs has earned it a client roster that includes small specialty-focused chocolate manufacturers to the very largest multinational firms.
Transmar Ecuador also serves as a hub for knowledge on the sourcing operation and sustainability for the other Latin American countries that Transmar operates in.
In 2002 Euromar was established as part of Transmar's expansion strategy and to provide better service to the European market.
Euromar serves its customers as a complete supply chain service provider. Euromar has a strong working relationship with the cocoa trade and is active in the cocoa-producing countries through trading and sustainability initiatives. This provides Euromar with in-depth market knowledge and experience that enables it to offer customers timely market options, competitive pricing, trading flexibility and customised sustainability initiatives.
