Maren Wiese: Our product range comprises wheat starches, wheat proteins, pregelatinised (cold-water binding) starches and flours, as well as tailor-made blends. Our primary focus is on dietetic and organic products, and all our products are 100% natural. A specialised production technique, know-how built up since 1900, and high hygiene and safety standards enable us to produce many special products. KRÖNER-STÄRKE is the leading European producer of organic wheat starch. Dedicated employees and flexibility enable us to find individual solutions for, and together with, our customers.
Naturalness is a matter of course for the KRÖNER products; our complete assortment is free from E-numbers. Untreated flours and natural drinking water from our own well are the basis of all our products, and our production process is free of any microbiocides or extraction aids. Our natural solutions also replace chemically modified starches, hydrocolloids, and emulsifiers or phosphates. For example, in place of modified starches, ROYALSTAR offers a special texture and functionality for sauces or fillings, while STIKKER is used because of its good sticking properties for batters. In the bakery sector, Pregelatinized Rice Flour R90 replaces emulsifier if products are needed to be kept fresh, and TOOGEL or SUPATEX can be used for water-binding instead of guar gum. To replace phosphates in the meat industry, products like our EM4 are a clean-label alternative.
The complete product-range of KRÖNER-STÄRKE is GMO-free, and the majority of our assortment is available in organic quality, including products with special requirements such as being pregelatinised or gluten-free. In addition to standard organic quality (EU-kbA), further special qualities like Biosuisse and Bioland are available, and Naturland on request.
KRÖNER-STÄRKE produces ingredients for dietetic applications like gluten-free, baby food and sports nutrition. Native and pregelatinised starches and flours are available, as well as mixtures.
Within the gluten-free sector, our most famous product is our gluten-free wheat starch, SANOSTAR, which contains maximum 20ppm gluten, and is suitable for people with coeliac disease. The starch is produced, without the use of enzymes and additives, by a special physical process to remove gluten, and our comprehensive internal and external analysis ensures the highest product safety. The starch is mainly used in the bakery sector because of its excellent baking properties and aromatic, cereal-like taste. An organic version and tailor-made blends based on SANOSTAR are also available.
The whole product range of KRÖNER-STÄRKE is suitable for the vegetarian market, and almost every product is also vegan. In the meat-free market, wheat protein is a popular ingredient, especially when GMO-absence is needed. The special properties of the product enable the creation of a meat-like structure so that wheat protein is used for several conventional and organic meat-analogue products, like seitan. Textured products are also available upon request. Several binding systems based on starch/flour are also used for various meat-free applications.

We create individual solutions for customers to ensure safety, quality and reliable processes. Due to KRÖNER-STÄRKE's flexibility, we are able to adapt existing products or create new raw materials or mixtures. For example, developments regarding product functionality such as viscosity, texture, dispersibility or granulation are possible, based on various raw materials. Special product qualities, like allergen/gluten-free, organic, halal and kosher, can also be produced.
