SALTWELL is not a manufactured blend, it consists of one grain, SALTWELL is an all-natural product from an ancient sea below the desert.

SALTWELL is extracted from an underground sea below the Atacama Desert in South America. Using an authentic sea salt method, the water is evaporated in open ponds under the strong rays of the blazing sun. When the mineral-rich water evaporates, the unique salt grains of the highest quality are formed. That’s also why it performs and tastes like regular salt unlike some manufactured salt blends. Due to the grain and the composition of the minerals there is no need to mask the off-taste you usually have from potassium.

The unique SALTWELL sea salt grain is naturally low in sodium chloride - only 65% – thereby drastically reducing the sodium content of any foods in which it is used. Switching to SALTWELL is easy – an equal ratio (1:1) will produce the same taste and results as ordinary salt. SALTWELL is easy to use and works well in all types of food. It can be used with excellent results in e.g. sausages, meat and chicken dishes, baking or as regular table salt. Saltwell also works well in soups, sauces and spice blends.

WHY LESS SALT?

About 75% of the salt we eat comes from foods made by the food companies or from food cooked in restaurant kitchens. Most people consume too much salt—on average 9–12 grams per day, or around twice the recommended maximum level of intake. Regular salt contains about 99% sodium chloride. High sodium consumption and insufficient potassium intake contribute to high blood pressure and increase the risk of heart disease and stroke. SALTWELL contain both potassium and low sodium, completely natural.

According to the WHO / World Health Organization, lowering salt intake at a population level is one of the most cost-effective measures that can be taken for better public health. The WHO's Strategy for Non-Communicable Diseases has a target of a 30 percent reduction in salt intake by 2025.

As an example; when salt intake is reduced to the WHO population nutrient goal, it would reduce the prevalence of stroke from 10.1% in Finland to 23.1% in Poland.

An estimated 2.5 million deaths could be prevented each year if global salt consumption were reduced to the recommended level.
