Since 1987, Naturkost Übelhör has stood for quality, reliability and competence when it comes to organic raw materials. The company's promise is 100% organic. It does not import raw materials that can be produced by organic farmers in its home country in sufficient quantities, and imports are limited to products that are not available or cannot be grown because of climate differences.
Since the foundation of Naturkost Übelhör, the number of employees has grown steadily: there are currently 50 employees at its headquarters in Leutkirch im Allgäu in Germany and 35 employees at the subsidiary Naturkost de México in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Naturkost Übelhör's organic assortment includes Sachia chia seeds, pulses, dried fruit, nuts, cocoa products, sugar and sweeteners, rice, gluten or starch, oil, fat and superfoods. Sachia chia seeds come from the Latin American sage plant Salvia hispanica (Lamiaceae), which is rich in essential omega-3 fatty acids. It produces a mild and almost transparent oil that has a great nutty flavor, and is extruded from the black and white seeds of the Salvia hispanica plant. It is cold-pressed and made of 100% organic chia seeds.
The Sachia organic chia oil is entirely free from genetic modification and naturally vegan and gluten free. It is extruded at raw-food quality and comes from organic cultivation. At the beginning of 2016, Naturkost Übelhör received approval for the production and sales of organic Sachia chia oil.
The oil is available at Naturkost Übelhör and can be sold under customers' own brand names in accordance with the Novel Food Regulations.
