Borges Agricultural and Industrial Edible Oils is part of a family-owned food processing business of Mediterranean origin, with more than 120 years of history and a strong international presence. It is part of Borges International Group, a Spanish multinational company with a turnover of more than €820 million present in 116 countries around the world.
We are leaders in the industrial processing, packaging and marketing of olive oil, seed oil and Modena vinegar, having historically sustained steady market shares for these products and a consolidated business, driven by a strong international commercial network. Currently, our clients are distributed in 65 countries.
Our function does not only consist of buying and selling edible oils and vinegars, but also to supply, industrialise and commercialise part of the value chain of our customers.
Borges Agricultural and Industrial Edible Oils last fiscal year turnover has reached the €533 million selling 307,400 tons. It owns six factories located in five different countries.
We are vertically integrated, which allows us to guarantee the highest standards of food quality and traceability throughout the production chain. Our main lines of business are:
Sourcing: We have our own production provided by our mills strategically located, that together with field network and mills that operate exclusively for our group, allow us to guarantee the traceability and quality of our products.
Industrial: Our industrial activity focuses on the grinding, extraction, refining and packaging of olive oil, seed oil and Modena balsamic vinegar.
Commercial: Our products can be commercialised to the Agro-food industry, where we create specific products to meet the needs of each client, and to packed industry where we produce and package for some of the most prestigious brands in the sector.
We produce basic ingredients of Mediterranean cuisine, mainly olive oil, seed oil and Modena vinegar. Olive oil has been recognised by nutritionists around the world for its abilities to reduce cholesterol levels in the blood and prevent certain diseases and premature ageing. In addition, we have recently developed a new product line, named H&GSO, textured fats made from unsaturated vegetable oils, created as an alternative to the use of highly saturated tropical fats (coconut and palm oil, dairy fats (butter, cream), hydrogenated and animal fats (pork fat, bacon and pancetta) and it is suitable for all sectors of the food industry.
We have production facilities in key locations which because of their proximity to the sources, guarantee maximum quality and storage life for the fruit. Our products exceed the most stringent quality and traceability controls throughout the process of production and distribution.
