Last July 13th, the NutraIngredients-USA Awards Ceremony was held virtually for the first time and fourteen winners representing the best in the natural products and dietary supplement industry were chosen.
Monteloeder won an award in the category: Ingredient of the Year: Weight Management, with its ingredient Metabolaid. This category aims to recognize the best tailored solutions and clinically proven ingredients to achieve and maintain a healthy weight. This is an important area of research and innovation as the obesity pandemic continues to spread around the world and affecting the lives of many people.
Metabolaid is a propietary formula based on hibiscus and lemon verbena extracts that has been shown to decrease fat accumulation in adipose tissue and liver, while also increasing energy uptake by the muscles, which overall gives rise to a “fat-burning” effect on the body. The ingredient won the award among two other finalists, because as they said at the awards ceremony “the judges were swayed by the published clinical studies which could provide for attractive claims to back this polyphenolic ingredient.”
